Sermon Psalm 39
                       Sermon Discussion Questions
1. Debrief: If your group completed the practices found in the questions from your last meeting, take some time to discuss that experience.
2. In the opening of the sermon Eric discussed how we often categorize sins into major and minor categories. We avoid the “big” sins and dismiss the small ones. What sins do you think we too often minimize into the “small” or “respectable” category? Why is this wrong?
3. Do you ever feel like there are emotions or questions you can’t bring to God? What are they? Why do you think this happens?
4. What are some good things we are tempted to set too high in our lives that ultimately stop being “good” when we make them God?
5. What does the Psalmist ask God to help him keep in mind in 39:4? How does being aware of the brevity of our lives change the way we live?
6. Practice: Take time between gatherings to try and consider your days as the Psalmist encourages. Consider journaling through what events and accomplishments have formed you so far in life and what you still hope to accomplish or see God do in the days you have left. Consider reshaping your time and  how you spend it to prioritize what you listed.
